The Timing of "Terror" & Why Iraq Is a Red Herring

Unless you live under a rock, which I hope you don't, you've heard by now about the 21 arrests of people in the UK with ties to Pakistan. Their "terror plot" against US/British airplanes was known for many months. Why then was this dramatic, frightening, and very distracting crime-in-the-making exposed yesterday, two days after a huge political upset for the American right wing?

I was never one for conspiracy theories but the Bush II years have forced all of us to examine them for possible scenarios. There already have been several documented conspiracies concocted and carried out by the Bush and Blair governments. The largest one is of course what occurred with the "Downing Street Memos".

Representative John Conyers has published a very detailed report about the US/UK case for invading Iraq and how it was manipulated by yes, a group of conspirators. So, I have two key questions of these two "Democratic" regimes regarding yesterday's arrest of the "terror suspects" in England:

1) If you knew about this plot why did you wait to arrest these dangerous "terrorists"? President Bush, and Prime Minister Blair were both on vacation yesterday. If this was such an urgent action...wouldn't they have been on-the-job? Also, doesn't this big, international story on Thursday completely erase the big national story on Tuesday of progressive Democrat Ned Lamont kicking Bush-loving DINO Joe Lieberman's ASS in the Connecticut primary? (Sarcastic side note: what a great political boost the Bush Administration, and Oliver Stone's new 9/11 movie will get from this).

2) Since we know the criminals who instigated and carried out the September 11, 2001 attack on New York & Washington DC were mostly Saudis, and we know that the criminals arrested in England yesterday were all Pakistani, (though mostly British citizens) why, why, WHY did we attack Iraq and WHYWHYWHY are we still there killing their citizens?


What? Terrorists in Pakistan? DUH!

U.S. intelligence analysts say they believe that the principal remaining leadership of al Qaeda is hiding in Pakistan. Despite increased cooperation between the Islamabad government and Western powers since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, they say, the number of extremists inside Pakistan may be on the rise and elements of the nation's intelligence services remain sympathetic to their cause.

On Friday, the British government portrayed Pakistan's cooperation as vital in undoing the alleged bombing conspiracy. But some U.S. officials said that five years after the Sept. 11 attacks, threats still emanate from Pakistan's lawless frontier regions and bustling cities.

Two intelligence sources suggested that Pakistan has replaced Afghanistan as center for terrorist activities and expressed frustration with the attempts of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf to exert control over huge swaths of territory.

I submit to you dear friends that Al Qaeda's leadership has ALWAYS BEEN IN PAKISTAN since the day the US started bombing Afghanistan. If our "leaders" had pursued Osama bin Ladin, like they shoulda-woulda-coulda lo those many years back (5 and counting) who's to say this operation would have even been in the works? Yet to this very minute, not only will the Bush Administration not acknowledge their terrible errors in Iraq, they're continuing to exacerbate the errors on an hourly basis. What's it gonna take folks?
